BNP Joint General Secretary and Narsingdi district BNP convener Khairul Kabir Khokon is coming to Raipura's Char area, but the upazila BNP leaders are not aware of the matter. The arrival of Khairul Kabir Khokon in Char area of Raipura yesterday caused a storm of criticism throughout the upazila.
Upazila BNP leaders said that Khairul Kabir Khokon is joint secretary general of BNP. He will come to Raipura and it was informed to the upazila BNP even though there was an organizational provision but it was not accepted. Therefore, a lot of noise and commotion has started with Raipura coming to Khokon. A group of BNP is preparing for the meeting. Since night, the arch is being constructed at Raipura entrance along with various points of the upazila.
On the other hand, the upazila BNP has called for the boycott of Khairul Kabir Khokon's meeting to be held in the Sayedabad school grounds. Raipura Upazila BNP has issued an announcement under the title of 'attraction' calling for the boycott of the meeting. Which has spread on social media Facebook.
Raipura Upazila BNP general secretary Abdur Rahman Khokon was contacted in this regard and he said, Khairul Kabir Khokon bhai is our leader and our guardian. We are not aware that he will come to our area and hold meetings. In response to the question whether they wanted to know the matter from Khairul Kabir Khokon, he said that since he is coming to Raipura Char area by bypassing the upazila BNP, he has not been talked to about this.
Raipura Upazila BNP Acting President Hazrat Ali Bhuiya spoke to him and he said that BNP Joint Secretary General and Narsingdi District BNP Convener Khairul Kabir Khokon Bhai will come to Raipura Charanchal Banshgari and hold a meeting there, a group has been campaigning for the past one week. But two days ago, the group suddenly changed its location and started campaigning by announcing that it will be held in Syedabad school grounds. In response to the question whether you have received any posters or leaflets about the fact that Khairul Kabir Khokon will come to Char area of Raipura, he said, "No, we have not received any posters and invitations, but I have heard from people that several arches or gates have been constructed in the area in view of the arrival of Harun Kabir Khokon." Besides, several boats have been hired to bring people from nearby areas.
Narsingdi district BNP convener Khairul Kabir Khokon and member Manjur Elahi could not be reached on the phone.
When I contacted Rafiqul Amin Bhuiya Ruhel of the organizing committee after not being able to get these two leaders of Narsingdi district BNP on phone, he said that they will answer who will go and where the district BNP leaders will not go. No one else has the right to say anything about it. Moreover, Khairul Kabir Khokon is coming to Raipura to attend the prize distribution ceremony of a friendly football match and not for any political meeting.
